- Under Customize mailbox options, click the Filters options link.

- Click the Create New Filter button.
- Define the filter by entering the following information:
- Filter Name - What you want to call the filter.

Email Blocking
Email addresses can be blocked if you wish not to receive Email from particular senders. Once blocked, messages from the particular sender will be sent directly to the Trash folder.
To Block an Email address:
- Click the Settings button.

- Under Customize mailbox options, click the Allow and Block Messages options link.

NOTE: If the master account holder has any sub-account with parental controls activated, the parental controls will override any block/allow selections that the sub-account has.
- To turn message blocking on, click the Advanced Block senders: radio button in the Enable Blocking section.
- In the Allowed Senders and Domains field, list the senders and domains you want to allow.
- In the Blocked Senders and Domains field, list the senders and domains you want to block.
- Choose an option in the Blocked Mail Actions section.
- Click the OK button.

NOTE: You can block all messages from a specific domain, but if you still want to receive Email from a specific person, even though their domain was blocked, you can enter their Email address in the Allowed Senders and Domains field.
Junk Email
Automatically delete, file, or mark junk Email before it reaches your Inbox. With the Junk E-Mail folder you have the ability to select how much spam filtering you would like on a per account basis through Web Mail.
To configure Junk E-Mail:
- Click the Settings button.

- Under Customized mailbox options, click the Junk Mail options link.
- Select a Filtering Action. You can choose one of the following:
- Deliver the Email - All Emails will be delivered to your Inbox.
- Prefix the Email subject with the text "SPAM:" and deliver - Email identified as spam will be marked as spam within the header and delivered to your Inbox.
- Place the Email in the Junk Mail folder - Email identified as spam will be delivered to the Junk Mail folder and deleted after seven days if not removed.
- Delete the Email - Email identified as spam will be automatically deleted.
- Click the OK button
Virus Filtering
All inbound messages and attachments are reviewed for potential viruses. When a virus is detected, the system attempts to clean the attachment. If successful, you will receive a new message from our Email system notifying you that a virus was detected and removed. The original Email will be attached to this system-generated message along with the cleaned file attachments.
If the system is unable to remove the virus, you will receive a system-generated message notifying you that a virus was detected in the original Email and that the file attachment was deleted. The text of the original Email will appear as an attachment to this system-generated message.
SMTP Authentication
SMTP Authentication allows you to authenticate yourself using your Email address and password before your mail is accepted by the Road Runner Mail servers. It is used to verify that the sender of mail is in fact a legitimate user and not a spammer. SMTP authentication does not offer guarantees that the mail is legitimate because mail can still be relayed through the trusted customer; however, it is a step toward identifying legitimate users.
Port 587
Some users may wish to use Port 587 when Port 25 is not available. Port 587 requires configurations within mail clients so the user can turn on port 587. Learn more about using Port 587.
