OVERVIEW
Road Runner Radio provides CD-quality, commercial-free digital radio to all Road Runner customers at no additional cost. Broadcast from a central location in real time, Road Runner Radio offers a selection of 46 stations across 12 genres from MUSIC CHOICE:

Road Runner Radio service is only available to Road Runner subscribers. The service can be accessed from a computer connected directly or through a home network to a Time Warner Cable provided cable modem or from any computer connected to the Internet using a valid Road Runner Email address and password.

There are five Road Runner Radio stations that may contain explicit music content:

  • Urban genre: Rap
  • Rock genre: Adult Alternative, Alternative, Classic Alternative and Metal 

Each of these stations will show an “Explicit Lyrics” marking in the Road Runner Radio station guide.  This marking will occur when you mouse over a channel, replacing the words “Music Choice” under the station title.

What kind of parental controls are available?

Road Runner Radio does not include Parental Controls or any station blocking tools at this time. All 46 stations are available to all Road Runner Radio listeners.

What happened to the Bluegrass, Showcase and Show Tunes Channels
When Music Choice makes the decision to add additional channels, they also had to make some decisions about the current channels to make room for new formats.  Customer feedback, market research, and current music trends were used to determine which channels had the best listenership that could also be transitioned into new formats.


USING ROAD RUNNER RADIO
How do I access Road Runner Radio?
There are two ways to access Road Runner Radio from the Road Runner home page.

  1. Click on the Radio button in the top navigation bar.

  2. In the Entertainment channel page, click on one of the stations from the On Radio Now widget located on the side-bar control panel.

Why do I need to log in?
Road Runner Radio is an exclusive service available only to Road Runner subscribers. The service can be accessed from a computer connected directly or through a home network to a Time Warner Cable provided cable modem or from any computer using a valid Road Runner Email address and password. Your favorite stations are stored allowing access to them from home, work or any other area with an Internet connection.

How do I log in?
You can access Road Runner Radio using any valid Road Runner Email address and password:

  • Road Runner Radio can be accessed from outside the home by entering a valid Road Runner Email address and password.

  • Forgotten Email addresses or passwords can be retrieved from the help link on the login page.

How do I change genres?
There are two ways to return to the main genre window:

  • Click the Back to Genres button on the top left-hand side of the station list within each genre.
  • Click the small white arrow under the Genre title bar.

How do I control Road Runner Radio?
Road Runner Radio provides the following controls: Volume, Stop, and Play. It also offers a way for you to control the amount of information displayed making the main choice areas accessible at the click on the Favs, Stations, or Info buttons on the Road Runner Radio control panel.

How do I control volume?
Volume may be controlled in two areas.

  • To control volume using the Road Runner Radio: Slide the speaker icon up and down the slider bar in the control panel (see above).
  • To control volume using your computer: Click the speaker icon in the lower right-hand corner of your desktop and adjust the volume on the slider.

How do I get back to the station guide?
Click the Stations button on the Road Runner Radio Control Panel.

How do I play and stop Road Runner Radio?
The music you play or stop is broadcast in a continuous stream. Stopping in the middle of a song and then starting the service again later will bring you to the playlist in the middle of a new song.

  • To play a song: Click the Play button (a white arrow-head facing right) on the Control Panel.
  • To stop a song: Click the Stop button (a white square) on the Control Panel.

How do I exit Road Runner Radio?

  • Click the Exit button (the white X in the red square) in the upper right-hand corner of the Road Runner Radio window.

How do I save my Favorites?

  • Click the white plus sign (+) in the upper right-hand corner the station you wish to designate a favorite station.
  • Or, Drag and drop the button to the Favorites section. You will know that your choice has been registered when a star appears where the plus sign had been.

How do I remove Favorites?
To remove a station, click the minus sign (-) in the upper right-hand corner of the station you wish to delete.

How many Favorites may I save?
You may save up to 10 stations.

How do I view my Favorites?
There are three ways to view your Favorites list.

  • Click the Favs button in the Road Runner Radio.
  • Maximize the Favorites section by clicking on the small bar icon next to the Exit button (the white X in the red square).
  • Click the Road Runner Radio pod in the right-hand side-bar.

How do I find out more about a song?
Click the Info bar. Information on the song’s artist, album, and title will be displayed.

What kind of media player is required to listen to Road Runner Radio?
Road Runner Radio supports Windows Media Player (WMP) for Windows and the Flip4Mac Windows Media Plugin for Macintosh operating systems.

What should I do to make sure everything works?

  • Verify that your system meets or exceeds all the requirements listed above.
  • Check the status of your sound card drivers.
  • Add Road Runner Radio to the list of accepted web sites in your firewall.
  • Add Road Runner Radio to the list of accepted web sites in your pop-up tab.

How do I check the status of my sound card in Windows 2000 or XP?

  1. Click the Start button.
  2. Click Settings.
  3. Click Control Panel.
  4. Click System.
  5. Select the Hardware tab.
  6. Click Device Manager.

  7. Click the plus sign (+) to expand the Sound, video, and game controllers entry
  8. Right-click your sound card title (Audio Codec, etc. ..)
  9. Select Properties.
  10. In the Device Status box, check that the message is "This device is working properly." If the Device Status message states that the device is not working properly, press the Troubleshooting button or contact your sound card or computer manufacturer for further assistance.

Why do I need to adjust the settings in my firewall and pop-up blocker programs?

  • Firewalls are meant to protect your computer from outside threats such as viruses, spyware, malware and more. If settings on firewalls are not brought up-to-date, it is likely that access to desired Internet content will not be available. If you have installed a firewall, make sure that you have added Road Runner Radio to the list of accepted web site.
  • The pop-up that houses Road Runner Radio makes the service available to you on your desktop. If you have installed a pop-up blocker or have blocked pop-ups through Internet Explorer, make sure that you have added Road Runner Radio to the list of accepted web sites.
