With the Road Runner Toolbar (RR Toolbar) you have direct access to the Road Runner portal wherever you are. This includes access to the home and channel pages of www.rr.com such as: News, Sports, Entertainment, Shopping, Travel, Games, Dating, Security Center, Video and Radio.

OVERVIEW
The Road Runner Toolbar will now be available each time you open up a browser window and you can perform the following tasks on the RR Toolbar:
- Go to RoadRunner.com
- Edit Toolbar Options
- Search the Web, Shopping, or Images
- Highlight search terms
- View the Weather
- Check Road Runner, and other types of Email
- Link to RR Security
- Link to any Road Runner Portal channels
- Link to the Road Runner Video channel
- Listen to Road Runner Radio
Do I need to pay for using the Road Runner Toolbar?
No, the Road Runner Toolbar is free of charge.
SETTINGS AND OPTIONS
What options are available in the Road Runner Toolbar?
You can access a number of settings and options by clicking on the arrow drop-down list to personalize the Road Runner Toolbar.

You are taken to a Road Runner hosted page where you can type in an Email address and let a friend know about Road Runner Toolbar. The Email address appears in friend’s inbox as the sender’s Email address. |

By selecting the Gadgets option you are redirected within the current browser window to the App Marketplace where you may select from a list of useful tools and entertaining games to add to your toolbar. |

By selecting the Help option you are redirected within the current browser window to Road Runner Toolbar FAQ page. |

By selecting the Privacy option you are redirected within the current browser window to http://www.rr.com/home/webprivacy/. |

A Pop-up window appears over the browser window indicating the version, ID, CTID, and privacy policy link. The Privacy Policy opens up entirely new browser and directs to Conduit’s privacy policy. |

The Refresh button will dynamically update the toolbar to reflect the latest enhancements available within the toolbar. |

The Clear Search History button will delete the Search History from the Search Box. |

Selecting the Shrink Toolbar button will result in the text disappearing and the icons being reduced in size. This allows all Apps to fit within the width of the browser window. |

Selecting the Toolbar Options button will result in a pop-up window opening over the current, open browser. The Toolbar options include Personal Components, Predefined Components, Useful Components, and Additional Settings. |

RR TOOLBAR ICONS

SEARCH
With the Search Box you can search the Web; either directly, or through the Shopping feature. For more information visit the Road Runner Toolbar Search page.
How do I perform a web search?
Web Search allows you to search the Web using Road Runner. The URL for the landing page where results are found is http://search.rr.com.
How do I perform a shopping search?
Shopping search allows you to search and buy products through Road Runner’s PriceGrabber partnership.
HIGHLIGHT
With the highlighter tool you can select text on a web page. Then you can either choose to find the word if it reoccurs in the document or search the text via the Road Runner Toolbar search box.
WEATHER
Two methods exist for accessing the weather on the Road Runner Toolbar. Get real time weather and temperature from the icon embedded in the toolbar or click on the weather area of the Road Runner Toolbar to have the two-day weather pop-up appear.
Weather will be set according to the ZIP code or city/state entered. For more information visit the Road Runner Toolbar Weather page.
E-MAIL NOTIFIER
The Email Notifier icon allows you to set this area to get mail from the Email account(s) of your choice. Once Email is received, the toolbar will display the number of new Emails in your inbox. A drop-down area with a list of Email accounts will be displayed when you click on the icon. When you click on the Email account it will automatically take you to that web mail site and log you into that account. For more information visit the Road Runner Toolbar Email page.
RR CHANNELS
The RR Channels option provides direct access to the Road Runner Portal (www.rr.com). There you will find channels such as News, Sports, Shopping, Games, Entertainment, TV Listings, Stock Quote Lookup, Travel, Dating, Jobs, Photos, Video, Radio, and Help. Once the drop-down arrow is selected for this option each one of the menu choices that appear are clickable and links right to the RR Portal page information. VIDEO
The Video option links you right to the Road Runner Video Channel product. RR Video Channel provides lively, informative, interactive, on-demand programming. It offers up to 500 clips from news and entertainment programs, films, documentaries, and music videos.
RADIO
With the Radio option in the RR Toolbar, just click the Radio icon and start listening to music in seconds.
NOTE: Road Runner Radio is available to subscribers only. If you are a subscriber, but you are away from home, you will be asked to sign in with your Road Runner Email address and password.
SECURITY
The Road Runner Security Suite is also available through the RR Toolbar. Just click on the Security option and it will take you directly to the RR Portal URL: http://www.rr.com/security.
POP-UP BLOCKER
The Pop-up Blocker Enabler allows you to block pop-ups and includes cookie cleaner, history cleaner, and cache cleaner.
NOTE: Internet Explorer users must have the pop-up blocker turned on either the browser itself or in the Toolbar to prevent pop-ups. Pop-up blocker is not applicable for Firefox users.

BROWSER
How can I move the Road Runner Toolbar to a different location?
You can change the location of the Road Runner Toolbar on your browser by clicking and dragging the vertical separator bar to the left of the Road Runner icon by placing the Road Runner Toolbar in the desired location. This functionality enables you to place two (or more) toolbars on the same line if you want to conserve space in your browser.
Please note that, as with all of Internet Explorer's toolbars, you can only move the Road Runner Toolbar to locations on the top of your browser window. Toolbars cannot be placed on the side or bottom of the browser window.
NOTE: If you are using Internet Explorer 6.0, you must unlock the toolbars before you can move them. Right click on the toolbar and deselect the Lock the Toolbars option.
Does the Road Runner Toolbar conflict with my browser or other add-ons?
No, the Road Runner Toolbar is designed to run without affecting any other system add-ons.
Do you support MSN Explorer?
At this time, the Road Runner Toolbar does not work with MSN Explorer. Please visit the Road Runner Toolbar - Download FAQ page for a list of minimum system requirements.
Why don’t I see the Road Runner Toolbar on my browser?
If you have installed the Road Runner Toolbar and do not see the icon, or you installed a new version of IE and the RR Toolbar is no longer displayed, go to View > Toolbars and click on the Road Runner option. If you do not see the Road Runner toolbar listed, click here for instructions.
I installed the new version of Microsoft Internet Explorer. Why doesn’t the Road Runner Toolbar icon appear on my browser?
In Internet Explorer, go to View > Toolbars and check that the Road Runner option is selected. If not, select it.
Why do I not see the Road Runner Toolbar listed in the Internet Explorer toolbars list?
Some earlier builds of Internet Explorer 5.0 have a known problem with their toolbars. The Road Runner Toolbar may be listed under the name 'Radio' (usually the second such listing). Go to View > Toolbars and click on the second Radio option.
How do I clear my browser's cache?
Internet Explorer Users
- Open the Pop-Up Blocker drop-down menu from the Road Runner Toolbar and select Clear Browser
Cache.

Firefox Users
- Open the Privacy drop-down menu from the Road Runner Toolbar and select Clear Browser Cache.

How do I clear my browser's cookies?
Internet Explorer Users
- Open the Pop-Up Blocker drop-down menu from the Road Runner Toolbar and select Delete Browser
Cookies.
Firefox Users
- Open the Privacy drop-down menu from the Road Runner Toolbar and select Delete Browser Cookies.
E-MAIL NOTIFIER
I can't access my Email account through the Email Notifier.
If you are having trouble accessing your Email account through the EMail Notifier:
- Make sure that your Email account is supported by the Email Notifier.
- Log out of all your Email accounts before accessing them through the Email Notifier.
- Make sure your browser is set to enable cookies.
- If you still cannot access your Email account, clear your browser's cache (See How do I clear my browser's cache?) and cookies (See How do I clear my browser's cookies), reboot your computer, and try again.
- If the problem persists, uninstall your toolbar. (See the Road Runner Toolbar - Uninstall FAQ page.) and then visit the Road Runner Toolbar - Download FAQ page and reinstall your toolbar.
Why does the Email Notifier sometimes show the wrong number of unread Emails?
The number of unread Emails displayed by the Email Notifier is updated automatically every few minutes.
You can change how often the Email Notifier checks for new Emails in the Email Notifier Settings window: Click the Email Notifier and then select Settings.
To check for new Emails manually, click the Email Notifier and then select Check for new Emails in the menu.
Is it safe to insert my private Email account details to the Email Notifier?
Yes. It is perfectly safe to add your account details to the Email Notifier. Your details are encrypted and saved locally on your computer. They are not shared with any third party.
CUSTOMIZING THE TOOLBAR
How can I customize my Road Runner toolbar?
To add/remove a component or change additional settings:
- Open the toolbar's main menu (by clicking on the arrow immediately to the right of the toolbar's logo).
- Select Toolbar Options.
- There are four tabs that that can be customized:
- Personal Components
- Select the Personal Components tab.
- Select/clear the applicable component's checkbox to add/remove from toolbar.
- Click the OK button.
- Predefined Components
- Select the Predefined Components tab.
- If you would like to add a component, select the component and either click the Show button, which will check the selected feature; or manually select the component's checkbox.
- If you would like to remove a component, select the component and either click the Hide button, which will uncheck the selected feature; or manually clear the component's checkbox.
- Click the OK button.
- Useful Components
- Select the Useful Components tab.
- If you would like to add a component, select the component and either click the Show button, which will check the selected feature; or manually select the component's checkbox.
- If you would like to remove a component you previously set, select the component and either click the Hide button, which will uncheck the selected feature; or manually clear the component's checkbox.
- Click the OK button.
- My Stuff
- Select the My Stuff tab.
- To remove a component from view but have it available for later use, select the component and click the Hide button.
- To display a component on the toolbar that was hidden, select the component and click the Show button.
- To remove a component permanently, select the component and click the Delete button.
- To change the order of the components, select the component and click the Move Up or Move Down button.
- Click the OK button.
- Additional Settings
- Select the Additional Settings tab.
- Adjust the various settings as needed:
- Enable search box history: Allows search box to "remember" previous searches.
- Suggest searches from the search history: Helps to speed up searches by completing the phrase with previous searches.
- Make sure that the toolbar is visible every (x) days: Set toolbar to appear on set interval.
- Enable toolbar update: Receive notifications of available upgrades for installation.
- Enable automatic update: Set Road Runner Toolbar to automatically upgrade.
- Enable search from address bar: Allows use of the address bar as a search box.
- Send usage statistics: Help Road Runner to improve the toolbar with very generic usage statistics. No user IP or any kind of unique details will be sent.
- Add selected text on the web page to the search box: Automatically inserts selected text on a web page into the search box.
- Enable switch back to default search engine: Allows you to use a secondary search engine via the toolbar and have the search box automatically use the default search engine the next time you open the browser.
- Show tooltip when community toolbar detected: Allows grouping of community toolbars available in the Conduit network with the Road Runner toolbar.
- Find words on this page using the Find bar: Press CTRL+F to search the web page. The toolbar's Find bar will appear at the bottom of the page, making searching easier. (Available for Internet Explorer 7 only)
- Click the OK button.
How can I remove a gadget from my Road Runner toolbar?
To remove a gadget from your toolbar:
- Open the toolbar's main menu (by clicking on the arrow immediately to the right of the toolbar's logo).
- Select Toolbar Options.
- Click the Predefined Components tab.
- Clear the gadget's checkbox.
- Click the OK button.

What are alerts?
Alerts are instant announcements that appear right on your desktop. They appear on your screen near the system tray for a few seconds and keep you updated with our most important info. You can easily choose whether to get the alerts.
Why am I getting alerts?
You are receiving alerts because you installed the Road Runner toolbar.
What benefit is there for me in getting alerts?
The alerts have many benefits and no real down side. They notify you of important news and special offers related to Road Runner. They cut down on Email overload by appearing straight onto your desktop and then disappearing after a few seconds. And you can control how often to receive them, or whether to receive them at all.
Can I choose how often to get the alerts?
Yes. In the Road Runner toolbar, click the arrow next to the logo, open Toolbar Options, and click on the Alert Options button. In the window that opens, in the Show Alerts field, choose how often to receive alerts.
Can I choose to stop getting them?
Yes. In the Road Runner toolbar, click the arrow next to the logo, open Toolbar Options, and click on the Alert Options button. In the window that opens, clear the checkboxes for any alerts you don’t want to receive. You can always select the alerts again, if you change your mind.
If I stop them, can I start getting them again?
Sure! In the Road Runner toolbar, click the arrow next to the logo, open Toolbar Options, and click on the Alert Options button. In the window that opens, select the alerts you want to receive.
